From The Bread Basket of Buffalo

Fit For A King! (photo by Gabriella Fabbri, Italy)

My sister sent me a gourmet food shipment a few days ago: three different cheeses (Camembert, honey Chevre and Canadian cheddar) with an assortment of crackers and breads, thick slabs of home-smoked bacon, wild blueberry scone and buttermilk pancake mixes, Creme Fraiche, imported English butter, Irish tea, Vermont maple syrup and an imported chunky multi-fruit jam. I invited a bunch of friends to share the feast and added to it fresh-ground coffee, fruit salad with walnuts and raisins and Greek yogurt.

We had about eight people stop by over the course of the late morning and afternoon. It was a fabulous way to spend a Sunday – talking, eating luscious food, drinking lots of coffee and tea and enjoying each others’ company. It was good, old-fashioned fun.

My sister and I have been talking food lately. I put together a “Fun Food Tour of Boston” for the next time she visits Boston. This is a gourmet food town and there are lots of options. The full tour would take days! Then, to my surprise and delight, a box from iGourmet found its way to our door. It was totally unexpected, and just for fun.

And fun we had! My thanks to Bette from Buffalo (well, Kenmore, NY). You’re the best, sis!

    1. It was a wonderful day. It wouldn’t have been as good just by myself. My friends made it what it was.

  1. Margy – So glad you and your Boston family enjoyed the food and the company. Wish I could have been there. Love, Bette
